Seeing one of your ATFs return to the industry warms my heart in more ways than one. The sense of nostalgia hits you like a ton of bricks, and all you can do is wait for them to reappear on Eros or with your favorite agency. However, it seems my hopes for Skin Diamond’s return are all but gone, as she has found a new career in music.
Skin Diamond, or Raylin, is starting her new journey as the lead singer of the rock band The Calamatix. The band is a reggae-rooted, punk-infused quartet known for their fusion of Jamaican rocksteady, old-school ska, and punk energy. At the soul of the band’s sound is lead singer Raylin, whom many of us will remember as the incredible Skin Diamond.
I, for one, didn’t see this coming. There was a rumor last year that Skin was set to return to the industry, but I guess that’s pie on my face for believing it. Seeing Skin move on from the adult industry shows that it was nothing more than a stepping stone to who she is today. While some people make the industry their entire lives, for her, it was just one path on the road to a bigger story. Even during her adult career, Skin made it clear she wanted to focus on her music.
That’s not to say I don’t still wish for her return. A comeback to the industry often means a return to providing—another rumor I was hoping would come true. But now, it’s just more pie on my face.
