I had no idea who Isabella Fox was until a number of providers came forward with enormous disdain for her. Apparently, she’s not well-liked in the community, largely because of how she teaches skills for being a provider—methods that many feel turn their profession into a joke. One of her recent posts isn’t doing her any favors, either.

Not everything Isabella writes can be dismissed as satire, though it might feel that way. Much of what she suggests goes against the unwritten rules of the industry. Some of it, however, is what many of us have secretly wished for at one point or another. It begs the question: should we be on Isabella’s side?

What’s more contentious is her creation of the Escort Academy, a platform designed to teach providers these unorthodox practices. In essence, she’s advocating for providers to be much more transparent about what they offer—essentially putting everything we’d want to know right out in the open. No initial email exchanges. No deposits required to learn what we’re looking for. It’s a concept that seems more like a fantasy than a realistic approach.

From our perspective as clients, Isabella’s agenda might make sense. It gives us a significant advantage. But to providers, it’s a slap in the face. Her teachings strip away the subtleties of their craft, leaving little incentive for clients to make meaningful connections. What benefits us could ultimately diminish their agency and control.

I’m conflicted about the Escort Academy. From where I sit, it seems like a place where women can learn to enter the industry. But from the perspective of providers, it appears to be nothing more than a joke—a misguided attempt to change the profession in ways that might do more harm than good.
