It's officially herpes awareness day. I had no idea this was a thing until 20 minutes ago though with there being a day for literally everything it's no real surprise there's one for herpes. Anyway, with herpes already being a giant reminder to this community that it exists it's still worth mentioning. This usually turns into a debate as to how you can get it, how bad it is, what you can do to prevent it, all that shit. Though I figure for awareness sake making sure we all know about this makes sense. I figure information straight from creditable sources.
Herpes simplex virus (HSV) is a common viral infection that can cause painful sores or blisters on the skin or mucous membranes.
Two Types....
Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1): Typically causes cold sores or fever blisters around the mouth.
Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2): Primarily causes genital herpes, but can also cause cold sores.
Transmission is pretty basic....
HSV is spread through direct contact with the infected person's sores or fluids, such as saliva or genital secretions. It can also be transmitted during sexual intercourse or oral sex.
There is no cure for herpes, but antiviral medications can help manage symptoms and reduce outbreaks.
Avoid contact with infected people's sores or fluids, Practice safe sex, and Use condoms during sexual intercourse
