But in Thailand, rent is cheap compared to Western standards, so they came up with a simple “floating agreement.” Nothing written down, just an understanding: he covers her rent every month, which lets her live in a nice, comfortable apartment. In return, well — we all know what he gets.
They only meet in person once every quarter, but they stay in touch daily through WhatsApp with good-morning and good-night messages.
Of course, that’s a long-distance setup. It’s a bit different if your SB is based in the same country as you. But even then, it doesn’t have to be ridiculously expensive. Like the example above, it could be as simple as covering her rent — no need to go over the top.
