Gentlemen,

The purpose of this post is to spread awareness. I’ve been reading through this forum and discovered some comments that prompted this announcement. I think everyone should know that a recent test does not count if you’ve had sex after. For instance, if you take a Gold Panel test, you are only clean for one encounter. Even if every partner you see has a clean test, the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and infections does not require a partner to have an infection. The mere exchange of semen, vaginal fluids, or blood can introduce infections like chlamydia, gonorrhea, or syphilis between clean partners. “Greek” poses a particularly high risk due to the delicate tissues that are prone to microtears. Many STIs like chlamydia or herpes can be asymptomatic, meaning someone might be infected without knowing it, even if they were recently tested.

Multiple partners in a short period of time increases the likelihood of unknowingly having an STI. If you contract an infection during this time (from one encounter), you can unknowingly spread it to others. Also, if you were to take a test the day after having sex, the results would not be conclusive because STI’s have a window period. This means if you contract an infection, testing immediately after would only result in a false negative. Even if your test is from a reputable company like TTS that uses advanced testing methods. This is because the pathogens will not yet be present in detectable quantities and the antibodies that the test relies on may not have developed. This typically requires 5 days minimum after exposure.

This is said to advise those who are planning to go to Vegas with the intention of seeing multiple partners over a short period of time (during the AVN festivities), and you believe you are clean because of a recent test. Your status is no longer clean once you’ve participated in a session with a provider. Especially multiple orgies in the same week/day. Participating in several gang bangs within 2-3 days places you at a significant risk and invalidates your last clean result.

With all of this said, if everyone is actually clean, tested, and refrains from having sex before their event, the risk is reduced because there is no new exposure to STIs. If you have 2-3 encounters after a clean test, you are exposed to new risks with each partner. If you are engaging in multiple orgies in a 2-to-3-day window, you are placing other ladies and gentlemen at a significant risk. While it may seem like fun and games, especially with the approval of the host you intend to see, it could also be true that the host is unaware your "clean test" predates multiple encounters and would not otherwise consent. In such a case, this is dishonest and violates their safety. The point of testing is to prove you are clean as of your last encounter, which is not possible to know if you engage in multiple sessions in-between and right before your next.

TLDR,
  • A clean test is only valid for one encounter.
  • STIs can spread even between "clean" partners through fluid exchange.
  • The testing window period can result in false negatives.
  • Multiple encounters between tests significantly increase risk
There's nothing wrong with assuming the inherent risks involved in one event, given a true clean status. But participating in multiple events and claiming to be cleared is not honest or safe for the people you’re engaging with at AVN. (Unless consent is granted with the knowledge that your status is not clear).
