A scent/aroma can evoke strong memories

It's a well-known fact that the sense of smell can be more strongly tied to memory than any other sense, but I experienced this profoundly for myself yesterday.

I had just spent 2 wonderful hours with Alex Grey and was waiting in Grand Central Station for my train home, leaning against a wall, typing my review on my phone, still able to smell her on me and thinking of nothing but her, when a young woman walked past me with a jarringly familiar scent. I don't know if it was her perfume, body wash, soap, hair product or something else, but I almost felt like I was hit in the face by a blunt object and was instantly back in the hotel room with Aria and Myra from over a week earlier, with my head swooning a bit at how intense that memory was and how real it felt to be back there. I don't remember which girl smelled like that last week, but it doesn't really matter.

What's crazy is that I couldn't tell you anything about that wonderful scent, either before that happened or since. I can't describe it, don't know it's source or what flavor/scent it's derived from. It's just one of those things that can only be described as "I'll know it when I smell it".

After a few seconds, the girl and her scent had passed, and the lingering smell and the intense feeling of being back with those girls faded, leaving me with just a smile on my face.

Anyone else ever had that happen? A random encounter with a scent that immediately brings you back to a specific provider experience?
